The machinery industry that is an important core industry covering all fields of manufacturing industries accounts for 40% of the entire manufacturing industries in Korea. The machinery industry is a basis of all industries, so called ‘the mother of the industry and the industry has developed in quantum leap with united technology of IT(information technology), NT(Nano Technology), BT(biotechnology), ET(Environmental Technology), RT(robot technology)and ST(space technology).

SIMTOS+manufacturing also has been evolving to reflect the trends of the machinery industry. KOMMA(Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association) will provide a new paradigm of the convergence of nextgeneration intelligent manufacturing technology and existing main industries under the catch phrase, 'United SIMTOS+manufacturing, United Manufacturing Technology with Machine Tools'

The show title changed to Seoul International Manufacturing Technology Show(SIMTOS) and the related industries are expected to be expanded to lead the advent era of the convergent manufacturing technology. Especially, SIMTOS2012 will be divided into five brand pavilions by exhibit product; ①Metal Cutting & Die·Mold Working ②Press & Metal Forming ③Cutting-off & Welding ④Tools & Related equipment ⑤CAD/CAM, Measuring System & Robotics ⑥Parts·Materials & Motion Controls

SIMTOS2012 is a comprehensive exhibition held with a scale of 100,000㎡ is twice larger than that of the previous show and expanding exhibit products such as welding machines, CAD/CAM equipments and machine tools as well. It is also upgraded from the Machine Tool Show to the Manufacturing Technology show so that SIMTOS201 becomes one of the world top manufacturing technology show in which much more foreign buyers and exhibitors will seek to join.
